Frequently
Asked
Questions

+ How long is Therapy?

This all depends on the person! However, we do not consider ourselves short-term therapists. When you enter into a therapeutic relationship with Athena Counseling, we will work until you feel you are living your most authentic version of yourself.

+ Can you stop at anytime?

Of course! Any client who wishes to stop therapy, or perhaps try a different therapy, is welcome to do so. However, we request our clients to bring up their concerns during a session for a conversation with your counseling relationship.

+ How many times a month do I need to visit?

This will be decided at the time of assessment with your counselor. Individuals typically have the most success and progress with weekly sessions, but this is not required. Due to scheduling constraints and at-home assignments, we find that couples and groups experience the greatest success with sessions every other week.

+ What does the end of therapy look like?

By the end of therapy, you will be living to what gives you purpose, you will have an overall decrease in symptoms, and your identity will be based upon your needs and values, rather than in what you have adapted yourself to be.

+ What do I need to bring to my first appointment?

Download the client intake form and fill it out as complete as you can! This will help us hit the ground running in our initial meeting and allow us to maximize our time together.
